Paper & Cardboard
Friendly Earth Environmental’s Paper and Cardboard Recycling is one of our most common forms of recycling. Paper Recycling has been around for decades. The research team at Friendly Earth Environmental compiled these interesting statistics:
Recycling one ton of paper saves 70 trees, 60lbs of air pollution and 2 barrels of oil.
7 percent of paper was recovered in the US in 2017.
Unfortunately, in 1999 Canada produced more waste per person than any other country on earth. *Toronto Environmental Handbook 1999.
Each Canadian throws away approximately ½ kilogram of packaging daily. In fact, half of our cities’ solid waste by volume and one-third of our waste by weight is made up of packaging. District of Kootenay Boundary, British Columbia
If everyone in Canada wrapped just three presents in reused paper or cloth gift bags, we would save enough paper to cover 45,000 hockey rinks. Source: *Ideal Bite
Paper Recycling is easy to do with a significant positive impact on the Environment.
Let’s make the world a better place and recycle!
